July 17 12:03 2026

NEW YORK – Ahead of the New York performance of the Black Myth: Wukong Global Concert at Carnegie Hall, the creative team behind the internationally acclaimed video game met with overseas players and music enthusiasts during a special Music Talk & Meet & Greet held on July 10. Jointly presented by Game Science, Poly Arts Entertainment, THE BLANC, and PINEASE, the event offered North American audiences a rare opportunity to engage directly with the creators behind one of China’s most influential contemporary cultural productions.

Presented as a free nonprofit community event, the gathering brought together gamers, classical music lovers, students, and members of New York’s Chinese and broader international communities through panel discussions, live demonstrations, and an extended audience Q&A.

Featured speakers included Li Jiaqi, Audio Director of Black Myth: Wukong and founder of 8082 Studio, and Jin Fan, Music Director of Poly Arts Entertainment and Global Music Director of the Black Myth: Wukong Global Concert. Together with touring musicians, they discussed composition, orchestration, and adapting the game’s music for live performance.

Audience members raised thoughtful questions about audio design, orchestration, interactive game music, and musical storytelling, leading to lively discussions that continued beyond the scheduled program.

Inspired by Journey to the West, Black Myth: Wukong has gained worldwide recognition for blending traditional Chinese musical traditions with modern orchestral techniques, introducing contemporary Chinese culture to international audiences.

PINEASE, a New York-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, promotes U.S.-China cultural exchange and supports the international presentation of outstanding Chinese cultural and artistic works through concerts, lectures, exhibitions, and community programs.

The Music Talk & Meet & Greet was presented as a standalone nonprofit community event and was separate from the Black Myth: Wukong Global Concert, which takes place on July 12 at Carnegie Hall.
